Early Access is a beta program in which select developers are offered free, limited access to new contests in exchange for their honest feedback.
How do I get an invite to join Early Access?
We hand select individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to implementing tasks on Makeinsite by taking and/or reviewing multiple portfolio. Selected developers will receive an invitation via email and through the messaging system on the platform.
What are the benefits of joining Early Access?
You’ll get free access to tasks that you review for a limited period of time. If you provide feedback for additional courses beyond the minimum requirement, you’ll get extended access to tasks of your choosing.
You’ll also have the ability to choose tasks to review from a tailored selection based on your preferences. This selection will refresh every 2 hours.
How long will it take me to provide feedback for one contest?
Are there requirements to maintain my status in Early Access?
You must review at least 2 contests every review period (every 30 day cycle since you opted in to the program) in order to stay in Early Access.
What happens if I don’t reply 2 contests one month?
The general rule of thumb is that we will remove your access to Early Access if you aren’t able to meet the minimum requirement of providing feedback for 2 contests per 30 day period. However, we understand that even with the best intentions, sometimes life gets in the way, so we will provide exceptions to this requirement on a case by case basis. Feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns.
Can I review as many contests as I want?
You will be able to review up to 16 contests every 30 day period.
What types of additional rewards could I earn by reviewing more than the required number of contests?
You’ll earn extended access to contests, the more you review. Other possible all-time rewards include (but are not limited to) Makeinsite discounts, swag, and special invitations.
What contests are included in Early Access?
While the program is in beta, we will include only a select number of contests taught in English that have been published within the last 60 days.
How is the course feedback I provide used?
While the program is in beta, your feedback will only used for internal analysis and will not be surfaced publicly to other developers on the marketplace. At the time you provide feedback, you will have the option to select whether your feedback should be shared with the customer of the project. This is completely optional, but your input goes a long way in helping customers improve their website, so allowing customers to view your feedback is very much appreciated.
Where do I find the project tasks, I can review & the tasks I have already reviewed?
These can be found on the Early Access Tab under My Tasks in the top navigation.
Please note that the Early Access dashboard and courses are NOT available on the mobile web or on the mobile app.
What feedback will I be asked to provide?
We will gather your feedback in the form for your opinion on how the contest project matches up to your expectations. All we ask is that you provide your honest opinion in as much detail as possible. You shouldn’t need any of a multi-question survey that asks prior knowledge of the project, simply fill out your skills in profile form.
Please note that the Early Access feedback form is NOT available on the mobile web or on the mobile app.
What if I’m not able to complete the full review in one sitting? Can I come back to it later? How much later?
You can exit the Early Access review process at any time and pick up where you left off within a limited timeframe. Your selection of contests to review will refresh every 24 hours and you will have until the refresh time (visible on your Early Access dashboard) to complete your review and get access to the contests.
Can I contact the customer of the contest? What if she contacts me?
While in Early Access, we ask you not to message customers (to start a conversation or in reply) unless you end up purchasing the website yourself later. Please be sure to read the Early Access Honor Code.
